I first became acquainted with the work of Zig Ziglar a few years ago when I was searching online for motivational quotes and videos to use in my classes. I loved his quotes on motivation and attitude and I still use them in many of my presentations. However, it was a videotaped recording of one of his talks on attitude that completely hooked me.

Zig Ziglar today is an internationally known figure who is acknowledged as one of the finest motivational speakers and a sales guru, and has a huge following all over the world. He has an appeal that cuts across country and race lines, and is a source of inspiration to millions across the world.

He is also the author of some well known motivational and self-improvement books, including “See You At The Top”, “Raising Positive Kids in a Negative World”, among others.

I have been a follower of Zig Ziglar for many years, and have always found his quotes to be highly motivational. I have used these quotes as my guiding lights whenever possible. My favourite Zig Ziglar quote is ““You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”

In this presentation, dedicated to him, I have tried to bring to the fore some of his more meaningful quotes that I personally find very inspiring and motivating. Although Zig Ziglar is no more, he lives on among us through his books, quotes, and countless number of recorded talks. The net is full of his work, and all one needs to do is to google for Zig Ziglar. Do take the time to watch some of the excellent videos on YouTube. I can assure you that, like me, you will simply love his work.

  1. A sad day today. Zig Ziglar passed away today. Here is what his Facebook page had to say:

Zig Ziglar passed from this world today after a short bout with pneumonia. Though his time on earth has ended, he is speaking with Jesus now in his heavenly home. The angels in heaven are rejoicing and his family is celebrating a life well
    lived.

If Zig has impacted your life or you want to leave a message to the family, please leave your remarks on his FaceBook page. Don’t worry about being too specific or long. Take as much space as you want…the family wants to know.

    Check it out on http://www.facebook.com/ZigZiglar

    May he rest in peace.

  2. The best tribute for Zig that that I have read today comes from Seth Godin, who writes:

    Thank you, Zig

My teacher Zig Ziglar died this morning. He was 86.

Thanks for teaching me how to sell and why it mattered.

Thanks for reminding me how much it mattered to care.

Thanks for telling us a fifteen-minute story about Johnny the Shoe Shine Genius, so compelling that I flew to the airport just to meet him.

Thanks for 72 hours of audiotapes, listened to so many times I wore out the cassettes twice.

Thanks for that one day we spent backstage together in Milwaukee.

Thanks for making goal setting so clear.

Thanks for elevating the art of public speaking, and making it personal, not something to be copied.

Thanks for believing in us, the people you almost never met in person, for supporting us with your voice and your stories and your enthusiasm.

Thanks for teaching so many people, people who will continue to remember you and to teach as well.

    You’ll be missed.
