Emptiness – Another Perspective

The Principle of EmptinessThe Principle of Emptiness

For most people, the word”Emptiness” would probably have a negative connotation. It is a word normally associated with desolation, isolation, a void, a lack of something, or loneliness, perhaps. In my case too, it was no different. That was till this morning. Having been away from this blog for more than a year, I had recently resolved to revamp the site and be more regular. Towards this objective I was searching for saved articles on my computer. Over the years, I have got into the habit of saving articles that I find interesting, especially in case I have not been able to give them an in-depth reading earlier.

This morning, with the intent of updating the blog as well as creating a new presentation (it has been ages since I did both), I went through the folder of saved gems on my computer to look for appropriate material for the content, and came across this very interesting article – The Principle of Emptiness by Joseph Newton, which presented a different perspective on Emptiness – something that forced me to think. I have always been a firm believer of The Law of Attraction, and never would I have associated Emptiness with the laws on my own. However, this article presented an alternate view, and the more I thought about it, the more I found myself accepting the principle.

Rather than trying to frame it in my own words, I am sharing below a presentation based on the article (also in video format), along with the article itself.

The Principle of Emptiness – By Joseph Newton

Have you got the habit of hoarding useless objects, thinking that one day, who knows when, you may need them?

Have you got the habit of accumulating money and not spending it because you think that in the future you may be in want of it?

Have you got the habit of storing clothes, shoes, furniture, utensils and other home supplies that you have never used at all or you haven’t used for a long time now?

And inside yourself… Have you got the habit to keep reproaches, resentment, hatred, grudges, regrets, sadness, fears, worries and more?

Don’t do it!  You are going against your prosperity!

It is necessary to make room, to leave an empty space in order to allow new things to arrive in our lives.

It is necessary that we get rid of all the useless things that are in us and in our lives, in order to pave way for prosperity to arrive.

The force of this emptiness is one that will absorb and attract all that we wish.

As long as we are, materially or emotionally, holding on to old, outdated and useless things, feelings, ideas, concepts, notions, opinions and ideologies, we won’t have room for new opportunities.

Goods must circulate…

Clean your drawers, the wardrobes, the workshop, the garage…

Give away to the needy, what you have never used or you don’t use any longer…

The attitude of keeping a heap of useless stuff ties our lives down. It’s not the objects we keep that stagnate our lives, but rather the attitude of keeping…

When we keep in store, we consider the possibility of want, of penury. We believe that tomorrow we may lack in those things and that we won’t be able to fulfill those necessities, although they have been lying there for years together and we have never used them.

With that idea, we are sending two messages to our brain and to our lives:

That we don’t trust in tomorrow, and we think that the new and the better are not for us. For this reason, we cheer ourselves up by storing old and useless stuff.

Remember: Whatever is destined not to happen will not happen, try as you may. Whatever is destined to happen will happen, do what you may to prevent it. This is certain. The best course, therefore, is to take life as it comes and enjoy the present moment.

Get rid of what lost its colour and brightness. Let the new enter your home and yourself…

May prosperity and peace reach you soon.

Hope you found that interesting. Having read the article now, do comment below and let me know what Emptiness means to you !
